Megalomaniac Manning

By anand - Posted on 09 March 2008

‘All relevant institutional stakeholders in the criminal justice system must join forces urgently to rescue the criminal justice system and restore public trust. ‘The very fabric of our society is being eroded. Viewed objectively, there can be no greater importance on the national agenda.’ —Justice Mark Mohammed, in the failed murder trial of Keisa Sealey.

It is a sign of desperation that judges now feel compelled to step out of their crease and register their alarm about the continuing decline and disintegration of our society. It is a last-ditch attempt to make a distress call.

Last week, Justice Anthony Carmona pleaded for an urgent review of the URP programme, because it was the cradle of criminal gangs, and had become the root of State-sponsored criminal activity. Interviews with youths who openly confess to receiving URP cheques for no work, as ghost gangs led by gang leaders control lucrative contracts and fight for turf, abound in the media and in the courts during murder trials. Nothing has become of the scandalous expose that even Jennifer Lopez was listed as a URP worker and drawing a salary! In the midst of all of this, PM Manning’s priority is the purchase of a private executive jet at an astronomical cost of $300 million.

Mr Manning does not speak to reporters about the uncontrollable crime situation. Instead, he addresses the rape case against his friend, St Vincent PM Ralph Gonsalves. Manning and Arthur Lok Jak, Vision 2020 Chairman, think that we are all fools. There is no social or economic justification, whatsoever, for the purchase of a private executive jet for the PM of a country with less than two million people riddled with violent crime and lacking basic necessities.

If this was a viable economic enterprise, rest assured Lok Jack would have been buying the jet to lease to Manning himself. Is Manning’s time really so precious that he cannot afford to wait in the airport? Can his protocol officer not liaise with the VIP lounge to ensure the PM is the last to arrive and board when the aircraft is ready to leave, so his time is managed?

As for Colm Imbert trying to deflect all questions to the board of Air Caribbean, rest assured we are not all dimwits; everyone knows Air Caribbean is simply dancing to the Government’s beat on this one. The board and management of Air Caribbean have a duty to act in the best interests of the company, and the level of care, diligence and skill must meet objective standards, or else the risk of personal liability of directors arises. I find it impossible to believe there is no dissent from any director on this issue! It is a vulgar and obscene, abuse and waste of public funds and not a “beep?” It seems as if we’re back to the good ole days of “not a damn dog bark”!

The outrage of citizens is evidenced by the avalanche of letters to the editor. Why not an air ambulance in light of our developed oil and gas industry, where injured people frequently need to be airlifted? Why not more beds and dialysis machines for San Fernando General Hospital? Why not subsidise food prices, instead of advising us to eat yam and cassava? Why not remove VAT on basic necessities?

While murderers continue to walk free because our criminal justice system is malfunctioning, as people are too terrified to testify and the delivery of justice is too slow, Manning wants to fly in style. This exaggerated sense of self-importance is difficult to reconcile with the tenets of Christianity, and he clearly needs to be “born again.”

He is distancing himself further away from the problems of the masses, and the political neophytes he has chosen to surround him all seem to worship him. Such megalomania is to be expected in a small-time banana republic, where we seem to think the world revolves around T&T.

All hail Manning, President of the Caribbean!

...very accurate and true, the man's a walking zombie, lost in his own world, oblivious to all and sundry around him, except for himself...he's entombed in his own mind...of who or what he thinks he is ...? Sometimes they call it "crazy" indeed, but at other times, just a plain "sheer lunatic"!...

...an emperor? a bus driver? the Head Leader of the Caricom? a preacher? Security chief of the Caricom nations? all of these and many many more, even "King of Kings" of all the African States and his counterparts, but all of this only exist in his mind, and thats what so dangerous ...Benny Hinn was perhaps better at this than me, and "a Fool", bigger than any he has ever encountered, seems like the best fit so far...! but thats what even so much more dangerous...! the "fool" does not know!

...nevertheless, very dangerous, like a runaway train with no brakes, but this joker at the controls, heading for sure disaster, come what may...!

....but many have been put away from and for the good of society ...in straight jackets that is...for much less, so its only a metter of time, if the people can wait that long and survive too...without food, water, roads, schools for their kids, health-care and hospitals, or police and security, or even a fixed up judicial system that the people can depend upon...but no...!

...No, the "fool" has to have his jet plane...and maybe good for him too, as I hope the drug gangs (his community leaders) get a "hold" of him soon to hitch a ride, (read "kidnap and hijack") when they need to run from the law as they are so good at...to some far off place where there is no law and justice, like the country "Megalomaniac Manning" has fostered and built in his "warped megalomania mind"...! A truly lost soul!

...well written Anand, so very true and eye opening...!

...take care! Trini.t.o.o

Yuh know I restrained myself from predicting that Manning would get his private jet when this first came up a couple months ago. At the time I thought "Nah he cyah be dat stchupid".

Well boy Trini.t.o.o, now any blasted t'ing is possible on Monkey Island (as Jumbie often refers to it) - ah mean any fleckin' t'ing, man!

Manning could just hump dem all how, and any how!! An' dey like eet so...jes gih dem dey carnaval and parang...and a few measley hand outs...man dey love him. And remember dee PNM cry "We love you...the PNM loves you..you are our children".  Ahm...ah t'ink dee kinda lovin' up dey had in mind was more like sexual abuse! Ah mean boy, ah ha' tuh shake meh head in disbelief...how Trinbagonians could be dat chupit to bring dee man back een to power. Christ man!! Ah mean dey jes lying dong and take in it any how it come now.

An' yuh know big prayers an t'ing happening to help guide politicians. Prayers meh foot.

Look, as time goes on it seems that Manning & Co jes know dey could do as dey please. See: Newsday 2008-03-09. Boy a jes fedup..a goin' and spread out on meh floor and arks dee lord tuh gih me strength. Ah also prayin' dat 'scholar' doh turn up to talk dam nonsense again.

Allyuh think Pa-trick chupid? Pa-trick have 'gyan' so that we ent really see yet.

Look how de man play a whole country for fools. Well, it easy enough to fool them URP/CEPEP posse, and Bas  have some dotish followers who licking he bamsee so long dey cyah see past the brown...

But Pa-trick fool everyone else. He does things so slyly, you figure sugar cyah melt in he mouth. Remember when Tattoo was saying 'nah, nah... we only take a ride in de plane, we ent buying none'? Now he self come and defending the new purchase. Pa-trick sly too bad, he buy it and tell we to haul arse.

Pa-trick does jess go ahead and do what he want - why? Well, we will write a few letters to complain to the newspapers and raise some rumshoptalk but in de end, we only mouthing off and he knows it. So he will still end up having his way instead of a good bull pistle where it will help.

Pa-trick surrounds himself with old PNM advers like John Donaldson, etc; the old horses who learnt tricks from long time... they have decades of experience in screwing the country... allyuh think Pa-trick chupid? De man know how to get his way... big buildings, rapid rail to Bombardier, waterfront, blimps, draft constitution to executive president. Trinidad getting screwed and nobody ent seeing it. Or they too frighten to protest.

Doh forgett the man make treaty with Abu Bakr and many community leaders than in return for their support he will give them state contracts and let them run wild like 'leggobeasts'. So said, so done. In fact, allyuh notice how he ent want a inquiry over the coup, specially since he was out of the country under mysterious circumstances...  And allyuh think he chupid? De man have the top brass in the duncey service as staunch PNM supporters, de criminal gangs, de coast guard and army... allyuh still think he chipid?

THINK AGAIN!

Big money leads to big bobol!! And bobol stinks to high heaven in this whole private jet matter.

As the story unfolds I'm beginning to think that the electorate were being played with, when this whole private jet issue was first broached a couple months ago. When you look at the apparent speed and calculatedness with which money was passed, you cannot help bu think "..these guys knew exactly what they were out to achieve".

Well see Newsday2008-03-11. $400 Million pass jes like dat - like i's nobody's business. Am I to simply believe Newsday is just selling a story? Now it seems the State buy a plane and dey eh even have pilots for it. Is that the usual? Could some pilot out there give us an insight on all this? Could a bribe have been passed somewhey?

Now there is talk about a Parliamentary investigation. Ahm...excuse meh dey tah. Yuh mean dee corrup' go investigate dey self and find out dat dey...um..ah...er...are CORRUPT! Look nah man, I wasn' born yesterday - okay!

$148 Million mansion, $400 million plane, $800 million stadium - what nex' - ah collection of concubines? Any chance of a li'le piece ah dee pie for a dilapidated third world health survice? Ah better STFU before dey sen' some Men in Black in a private jet tuh gih me some licks, yes.

...Fasten your seat belts for landing, you are now about to touchdown at Piarco International Airport, Zimbabwe,T&T:

...home of the steel pan and calypso and balisier, where the all year fete, wining and jamming goes on non-stop from January to December, where you don't have to work, because we rolling in oil and gas money(for now that is), and the Prime Minister, sorry, Executive President Patrick Manning and his wife Hazel Manning, the Senator or Minister of something or the other, whatever comes to the mind of Patrick on any give day, lives in their $148,000,000 mansion with a pool and attached games room, sorry Convention Centre, with their $500,000,000 Bombardier Executive Jet parked adjacent in their own personal airport, sorry Municipal Airport in St.Anns,Zimbabwe, P.O.S.T&T..!

...like Carribean Airlines, we hope you brougt your own food, bedsheet and pillows to make yourselves comfortable, as there are none in Zimbabwe, T&T, as most of it are used to keep the Emperor Manning and his wife well fed and comfy...!

...we also hope you brought your own medicine and doctor and nurses, just in case you get robbed, beaten, raped, kidnapped or killed while you're here, and if you run into any trouble, don't call Martin Joseph, Trevor Paul or even the Mayor of Port of Spain, because they are at the fete, and it serves you good, as you should have brought your own Security Detail to protect you and you should have been more careful, because you are to blame, no one else...! O.K?

...the natives, sorry, Trinbagonians fight for scraps of food each day and even kill each other for it, and some even jump off hospital balconies because they so happy they could die for it...just to live in this land of milk and honey pastor Manning created, the only man with vision and foresight and dreams into the future...!

...wake up my fellow countrymen, I don't mean to make sad or sick humor about this developing situation, but it only help to confirm our worst fears expressed in this site last year well before the elections, to be afraid and careful where you place your faith and vote in the people you expected to serve your country best for you...!

...in one of the contribution, Captain Walker wrote about "Zimbabwe here we come", I suggest you go back and read it, and I recall another article on this site, that showed a table of comparison between "Mugabe and Manning", especially their similarities in style...!

..."Jumbie" also made some potent contributions outlining the conspiracy and deceitful way that Manning was positioning himself towards this very same outcome as is happening today...!

..."Trinican" also added and made some very astute observations and potent comments again in the happenings of today...!

...Truth of the matter is, my fellow Trinis, we have been taken for a ride ,(but not on his jet plane)by Manning and his cohorts, and the sly, cunning, deceitful and shameful way in which he is going about all of this as though the people, meaning you and I don't matter one bit in his plans except to keep him and his wife in their lavish lifestyle to which he come accustomed, and he will keep his cronies in line, just look at Ken Valley as an example for being outspoken, even in the final hour...!

...its a done deal, "fait accomplait", do or say what you want, he just dont care..he is also just laughing at Panday and Ramesh as he will go on and do as he pleases, he knows the people are too afraid to do or say anything, and even if they do, it won't matter to him, he's appears immune to almost anything or anybody...except one thing, hence he has insulated himself well, and has got good advice, for he's not that smart a man to do this all by himself, his advisors are well known...read the spanish signs at the airport and the highways...thats the clue...!

...as I see it, this can ony go on until it begin to affect the interest of U.S.A or Americans themselves, along with any threats to oil and gas and the very survival of the Americans themselves, until then, that will be the only salvation for Trinbagonians like us living in some banana republic...! but then, he can only achieve his goals if we stand by and allow him to blow away our monies in the wind or the wings of a jet plane...!

...so thats my only hope at this time, but for everything else, don't leave home without it,Zimbabwe, T&T, that is, and I don't mean your plastic credit card...ok?

...good luck and take good care of yourselves...!

Well folks, the latest according to Newsday 2008-03-19 is that there has been a U-turn on the Jet purchase.

We are now informed that basically technicalities led to the deal not going through. Well eef allyuh believe dat allyuh will also believe that my name is Prince Charles and I come from planet Zog! Look, nah man - what it is with deese people? Dey t'ink we is a bunch a coonoomoonoos or what?

Dey bamsi was makin' sweet eye after Anand's stinging commentary - fired up a storm and sent ah rocket up dey ass. Daize what it is!

So all dey do is make a back-track. Well eef allyuh was really born yesterday den allyuh go believe dat daize dee end of dee plane-story.

Well pardners ...ah have news for some ah allyuh. Listen up or read meh lips. Dee plane will be back on the agenda in a few months.

Oh and notice how fas' dey whip out that dey spending $TT 300M on 6 Coast Guard boats. Ahm...allyuh suppose' tuh praise dem fellas fuh dat, because allyuh suppose' tuh t'ink dat daize a big crime-fightin' move, tuh tackle illegal drugs and ammunition from comin een.

Bow dong now and renew your allegiances.

Well yuh didn' have tuh be ah see-ah man tuh figure out dat dee Men in Black would not give up dey jet jes' like dat.

See it here now: Newsday 2008-04-03 where dey it is reported dat dey hinting at jet again.

Ah mean is dee blasted govament totally insightless and psychotic - like Mugabe. What on earth going orn wid deese people?

Yuh people suffering and deadin' in hospitals, yuh criminal justice system dilapidated, crime out of control, food production and prices out of control, water shortages and flooding at dee same time every blinking year (whilst yuh have plans tuh  build more desalination plants) - and yuh continue to spend money on all manner of assness. Ah mean tuh say. Come nah man. What dee hell is goin' orn?

Oh ho - so we out here eh seein' it correc'. Right - Pastor Patos, allyuh tell we how all dat spendin' helpin' dee people out of dey ketch ass.

Captain, these guys smooth like silk, ah mean Manning, and Mariano Browne and Lok Jack and the whole bunch of "sneaky snake oil salesmen" everyone of them...!

After all, eighteen days have passed and CA have yet to return back the U.S $63 million that Browne gave them, but then he have'nt asked back for it either, like it is he own money, not ours...!

So all this "gran charge" back and forth is just to test the people a little bit, and yes you're right, the Jet is coming back, but I have a feeling that it never did leave at all, they just feeding the people a line to see how they react and then wham bam, before you know it, the jet is a done deal...it sitting at Piarco cooling its heels or wheels...!

Manning playing the game like he is a real smart man, and so does his other cohorts...they have come to realize that Trinis are just a bunch of whiners, and have no guts...! I bet if they get a few bull pistle in their behinds they would have straightened out themselves very quickly...! But who's going to do it, the opposition party is in disarray and the people are too hungry and busy looking for food to even think about what Manning doing to them...!

Problem is though, if Manning get away with this, and I know he will, then crapaud smoke we pipe... no stopping him from here, all this gambage about having to travel to ten African Countries, and having to chair the fifth summit of the Americas and his International status...his International travel commitments to China and India...I tell you this man is full of it...like the old saying goes, if he can't dazzle them with brilliance, then baffle them with bull sh..t...!

..The people have to let Manning know in a very serious way that if he ever leaves Trinidad, he will not be returning, they won't let him...and they have to not only tell him, but have to show him they mean it too...after all this is their country and their money, not his, and they have to act and behave accordingly to give him the strongest signal that he can't keep pulling these fast stunts on them all the time and getting away with it...

..but that's not likely to happen...so yes, the jet will return and he will get his way...but every inch he gets away with now, will turn out to be yards and yards later on, until eventually democracy will have been removed completely, and Manning would have had his way...no different to Robert Mugabe...so the people have to make a stand and put a stop to it now before it gets too late...they also have to chase out the scums like Lok JAck and MAriano Browne and let them know that the people have their power of their own, if only they can mobilize themselves long enough to stand up to them...

...if not, this will be the slippery slope towards a direction they cannot return again...not now or even in the future...Manning will have his jet plane, and he will also have his way...take a look at Zimbabwe...!

the man need to be stopped now...not later...the man is outa control...if not, it will be a real sad day for Trinis...like it or not...!

good luck..Trini.t.o.o
