You may recognise the above quotation from Orwell's classic negative utopia novel, 1984. As citizens of a nominally democratic society we are unaccustomed to thinking of ourselves in these extreme terms. The mere suggestion may even offend us. But don't you feel it? Don't you feel the shifting of what you once called reality? Aren't you aware of the slight of hand , the misdirection, the systematic distortion of the facts? You feel it, don't you?
Each individual who may be acquainted with the facts finds himself straining to hold on to the thread of his thoughts. Each one fighting to stay afloat in the swirling lies around him. The truth we hold on to confining us to an ever smaller circle of sanity until that truth renders us insane in the Orwellian sense - a minority of one.
Over the last year I have sat in silence trying to hold on to a truth that most would not believe. I can carry it no longer. I want more than anything to speak. I am alone. I am perplexed. I hope someone will listen for after all, two are not as alone and perplexed as one.

You are not alone Mr Blackman! From what I've seen, this site has attracted a group of high quality thinkers who express their views freely and lawfully.
From my long association with the supporters here, I can tell that many wise people gather here and visit the site.
Your words run very deep and place me in some kind of existential crisis. But that's not bad at all. I need that in order to better reflect on my existence and my relationship to the world outside - especially the world according to diehard Trini's.
I am sure the rest of us will welcome your thoughts.
